Rainy Days

It has been pouring rain in New York...even more than trees and gardens need. I hope the seeds and seedlings that I set out in Vermont haven't been washed away. I'll know more on the weekend. I feel as if we were lliving in a tropical rain forest--but, sadly, without the monkeys.

We have been told that the climate shift will be bad for the hard woods. I wonder if we will have to change the varieties of vegetables we grow. Oddly, I lost sage (culinary) in Vermont this winter. The one big plant in New York sitting along with other herbs in a bed over the garbage enclosure has flourished. I guess it's coals to new Castle; bring my sage to my beans in Vermont.
