Mexico DF...city

For addresses, telephone and more, see travel and food on web page.
We started in Mexico city and stayed at the Four Seasons which was very good. The concierge services were even better: excellent.
My favorite restaurant was Izote, owned and chef-ed by the remarkable and lovely to look at Patricia Quintana. There is an English language menu, but no condescension to the taste of gringos.
I knew from the start that we were in for a wonderful meal when the tortillas came to the table. There were white corn and blue corn ones far better than I have ever eaten. They are made from roughly ground whole corn and are crisp with lots of texture. Beware! I was tempted to make a whole meal of them.
The rest of the menu borrows from all over Mexico and is creative as well as traditional. There is a ceviche of scallops marinated in a Seville orange and soy vinaigrette, more traditionally a roasted duck in a Oxacan mole negro sauce, more unusually a shrimp in a mole of Jamaica (hibiscus--usually served as a bright red drink) and a shredded venison in achiote and vanilla with Seville oranges, radishes and cilantro. I could go on and on writing and eating.
Suffice it to say that this is a must stop.
It should be noted that she has written many books in English and Spanish and is a star on Mexican television.

Mexico City, hot and getting HOTTER!
First we have Tony Bourdain doing a show (available on ITunes), and today the Wall Street Journal does its own report on "The World's Greatest Food City ?"( http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123215425094092359.html).

Of course it is, and has been for over a hundred years. Buen provecho to all.

Yes, always good but getting better and more innovative. For traditional, I prefer Oaxaca. More info please
