Acorn Squash and Kidney's apart

it just goes to show technique can always get better by which I usually mean easier and quicker. To clean out the seeds and fibers from halved acorn squash I think I now have found the perfect tool. It is an old ice cream scoop, the kind with a round bowl and a lever to push out the ball of ice cream. Mine although seldom used due to lack of ice cream eating scoops the seeds and strings quiskly with its sharp edge.

Also, kidneys that are hard to clean--large ones--are best quartered lengthwise. Then, it is easier to get the white center out.
